THE TORCH SCHOOL was established by two brothers from Omotere family with the sole aim of “providing qualitative education at affordable cost to average family in Nigeria”. The family has resolved to always produce TORCH BEARERS with right moral values that will illuminate the world. This has been summarized succinctly in the motto of the School which is “knowledge lights the world”
The purpose built College section was dedicated to Almighty God on 3rd October, 2005 and resumed for academic work on 4th October, 2005 with a total of seven (7) students, seven (7) teaching staff and one (1) non-teaching staff.
In 2006, the Nursery & Primary School section was added by acquiring another property in the street.
REGISTRATION, APPROVAL & RECOGNITION
Business Registration: The jolly brothers submitted registration documents to the Corporate Affairs Commission and was granted permission to establish and run Nursery, Primary and Secondary school within the country on 17th November 2004
Approval: The Promoters sought for operational approval from the Lagos state government and obtained the necessary approval to operate in the state with an approval letter dated 14Th April 2006.
Recognition by State/National Examination Bodies: The school is recognized by the following examination bodies at state and national levels.
- Lagos State Examination Board (Common Entrance Examination for Primary schools, Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) for Junior Secondary School level
- West African Examination Council (Senior Secondary School Examination)
- National Examination Council (NECO) ( Senior School Examination)
